Hi, Yes Russel. this is reasonable advice and if I was on site I'd follow that.
The only thing I'll add here is from different instances (in all kinds of politics - from say the level of a univ. department to the level of the world) I sometimes see that its the "leaders" (influential people) who seem to be more emotional, more rigid in their idealogy and more unreasonable, than the "followers" or the every man. I used to think (probably wrongly) that the crowds were supposed to shout for blood and the leaders were supposed to come up and say "calm down calm down, lets sit down and figure this out." because the leaders were better informed and more rational. Anyway.
