the thing you are looking for is "gnome-db".......
the place to look for its documentation is

hope it helps...

when you are using tcl/tk and looking for database connectivity
i suggest you to incorporate c code in your tcl/tk code ...and access
c lib for mysql.I presently dont see any other option.
