there is no reason why linux can not have a graphics viewer working
in vesa mode. these tools can be used outside any GUI i.e. in text
mode. i am not quite acquainted with graphics in linux. so can't be
very assertive. yet i am looking into. all of you also know that during
boot up in vesa mode a small picture of tux is visible on the top-left
of the screen. who shows this? kernel or init? what may be it is, it
must have the rendering code. combining that functionality with other
image tools on linux can produce a very barebones yet powerful
linux based slide show system on a cd along with sound and voice.
i am personally interested in taking it as a project. is anyone else
interested?
