People on Debian are known to have faced the similar kind of trouble u mention. The most probably cause of the crash could be a chipset bug which has been worked around in later drivers and XFree86. Anyways, the commonest solution which has worked for most people is one or a combination of the following -- upgrade to XFree4.2.x, recompiling the kernel without BIOS support/APM support, upgrade to a later version of KDE than is shipped with Woody. To explore the xscreensaver crash, recompile xscreeensaver with debug symbols, so that u can do a back/stack trace using the core. You may want to look at http://www.jwz.org/xscreensaver/bugs.html in case you want specific pointers in this direction. hth --indra -- To unsubscribe, send mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the body "unsubscribe ilug-cal" and an empty subject line.
