That topic is sure shot flamebait. But seriosly, it
depends on your personal prefernece. Take me for
instance, I prefer the CLI for most troubleshooting,
tweaking tasks and use the GUI for most everyday
tasks. Even during installation I prefer the
curses/text based interface to the fancy GUI wizards
of modern distributions.

Nothing like that, but in the end as a user starts
getting more accustomed to linux, he or she would
chose the interface which gets most work done in the
least time. Most of the GUI interface for linux too
have shortcut keys defined for most tasks and I use
those quite a lot. To each his own. 
Though, personally I prefer command line interfaces
which get the job done without cluttering the screen
with too many windows.
