FIFTEEN this matter also came up for discussion .. members who are able to burn cd's .. on charge basis .. could 'sell' them from the ilug-stall .. pk pointed out that the moment 'selling' is involved, compass would term that a 'commercial' thing .. and then ask for stall charges ..
on the other hand .. if visitors were redirected to people who do cd burning and giving .. without any money changing hand at the stalls, then ilug-cal is just 'informing' .. not getting involved with handling money or selling .. this could be allowed to be done .. many members' name could be informed to the visitors .. with the visitor taking the decision about whom to contact, for what to contact, what to pay and how to do all this .. ilug-cal would not be involved in the 'business' aspect of cd distribution ..piikay ----- Original Message ----- From: "Manas Laha" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Tuesday, January 18, 2005 5:20 PM Subject: Re: [ilug-cal] Need advice on live-cds > > The response to my query about live-cds of Linux was very encouraging. > Thanks to all who replied: A Mani, Arijit Majumdar, Anshul, Arindam > Basu, Rajiv Lodha, Sudeep, Soumyadip Modak, ... if I missed out someone > I beg pardon. > > Based on all your responses, it narrows down to Knoppix & SimplyMepis. > Uh! well, maybe I shall give both! > > And Soumyadip, you wrote: > > >On Mon, 2005-01-17 at 16:55 +0530, Manas Laha wrote: > > > > > >>Folks, > >> > >>I am planning to introduce to Linux a bunch of people yet innocent of > >> > >> > > ^^^^^^^^ > >Strange word to use, makes me feel like a criminal :) > > > > Well, here are two of the meanings of "innocent" relevant to the > context, given by http://www.dictionary.com: > ------------------------- > Not exposed to or familiar with something specified; ignorant: American > tourists wholly innocent of French. > > Unaware: She remained innocent of the complications she had caused. > ------------------------- > So, you are not guilty of Linux, you are merely experienced of it. > > Thanks again. > - Manas Laha > > > > ***************************************** > This Mail is Certified to be Virus Free. > CIC Network Security Group, IIT Kharagpur > ***************************************** > > -- > To unsubscribe, send mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the body > "unsubscribe ilug-cal" and an empty subject line. > FAQ: http://www.ilug-cal.org/node.php?id=3 -- To unsubscribe, send mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the body "unsubscribe ilug-cal" and an empty subject line.
