As far as compass is concerned, anyone can take a stall. One need not be a
compass member (who get discounts of 40% for life members and 20% for annual
members)
Without discount, an individual can take a stall on behalf or ilug-cal by
collecting money from ilug-cal members/sponsors/others
Putting the name on the facia : what is NOT allowed is for a company to take
a stall and put additional names on the facia.
Conclusion : if on a paid basis, then ONE name would be allowed

past : when atul delivered talks, he got paid, in the form of three stalls
.. and if i remember correctly, the facia didn't say 'Atul Chitnis' .. it
had 'ilug-cal' .. or was it .. India Linux Users Group - Calcutta Chapter
(note : the 3 stalls in compass2003 were NOT free ! ilug-cal is NOT obliged
to compass for those 3 stalls .. but ilug-cal is definitely indebted to atul
chitnis. He did it all for us. There WAS a lot of push and pull and
bargaining. And i was smack bang in the middle of it all. And B.Hari was on
the 'other' side. Hemant Chabaria initiated, navigated, and THEN passed it
over to me to conclude by co-ordinating. Atul was the one who came, talked,
helped, guided, co-operated and got us the stalls too, in lieu of the money
he could have charged. Atul doesn't talk for no charge ANYWHERE and he IS
quite high profile and charges accordingly)
(while at it, let me also record that at one point of time, the talks almost
broke down due to the 'lesser' number of stalls that were being conceded by
compass in lieu of atul's talk and atul was pressing very hard. At that
point i HAD to call on all my powers of pleading, requesting, cajoling which
atul and compass kindly responded to. I do feel that if atul was not going
to cebit in early march, we could have 'negotiated' yet another 'deal' and
perhaps for more stalls too)
(also this : i AM trying even now to get in someone of similar 'stature' ..
thru atul and raj mathur but am not very hopeful)
