Hi I think the thread has lost its way. My intention in bringing this to the GLUG's notice was not to learn howto get the laptop working. My objection was to the whole idea behind the ad. What I understand from the wording, I quote the ad again: "The Linux that is pre-loaded is a free version and would have limited functionality until another operating system is installed." I think the whole idea behind the ad stinks. First they sell the Laptop cheap ( minus the cost of OEM windows), then they claim that the os installed has limited functionality <b>until another operating system is installed</b>, where they are encouraging the user to install a pirated version of Windows. So, for the record, my post was to draw attention to the wording of the advertisment. Can this ad be reported to the Ad council? Regards Sudeep -- .~.
