Hi Everyone, I am trying to connect 2 computers. The configuration is as follows:
Computer 1: Running FC3. Has 2 network cards. Computer 2: Running XP. Has 1 network card. I am trying to configure Computer 1 as follows: ifconfig eth1 192.168.0.1 netmask 255.255.255.0 route add -net 192.168.0.0 netmask 255.255.255.0 dev eth1 For Computer 2, I go into the WinXP control panel and set : IP Address: 192.168.0.2 Network Mask: 255.255.255.0 I'm trying to connect the two computers with a D-Link DES-1008D switch. After setting it up, I go to computer 2 and run: ping 192.168.0.1 But the ping fails. I have confirmed that the network cables work. I have also confirmed that the computers can ping themselves.
