It's good to see that there is an objective discussion on in this thread=20
(rather than impassioned calls for the listadmin's head on a platter). I=20
would suggest that we take a few steps to revive this group. But first, my
experiences: I joined Ilug-Cal 5 months back. Since then there has been *1*=
,=20
single meeting. And that meeting had all of 6 attendees. Now, in a list of=
=20
1500+ members, that is well below the expected attendance.

So what do we do:

a)Regular monthly meetings. Should be tied to the first Sunday of every=20
month or some such thing. Meetings should have an agenda, and meeting notes=
=20
must be taken and posted. There should also be a "zero-hour" in the meeting=
s=20
(Even our Members of Parliament need their moments of fun :-) )

b)Being listadmin is a full time job, so some volunteers are needed to take=
=20
up other activites, the most important of which is to maintain the group's=
=20
web site. This could be a point for discussion in the next meeting.

c)There should be an "administration" list where all administrative issues=
=20
for Ilug-Cal can be discussed rather than discussing these issues on the=20
Linux discussion list.

I hope the list members are ready to come together to make this group more=
=20
effective.

Thanks,
Prashant Verma
