I regularly transfer to-from various stuff like pictures, 3gp video
clips, contacts (aka phone numbers) etc between my phone and laptop
using bt. even gnome phone manager works and i can send SMS msg from
comp over bt using it.

however, in case of bt, it boils down to the bt profiles that your phone
and especially your phone's firmware supports... my phone for example
does not support SPP (serial port profile) and so i can't setup a PAN
ad-hoc n/w... whereas Sayamindu's phone can .... grrrr! ;-)
