Dell and Lenovo are better brands in terms of service and reliability. And in my personal opinion, because many of my relatives and friends use compaq/hp. I think it will be a poor choice and going for wipro, hcl or anything like that will be poorer choice.
try configuring your system at dell india site. goto www.dell.com and select India as your country. Vostro is a good choice, they are more reliable. For dell you get 2days service. And instant replacement if a part is faulty.
