@ muarli.... So now you have the budget in hand. The next thing that you need to look at is the kind of application for which you are going to use the laptop for. If it is just personal and office, I dont think you need to look for a high end model. A laptop with a Dual Core brain and 2GB RAM would be more than sufficient for you. The rest features like 160GB Har Disk, DVD Burner, Wireless, LAN, Modem etc are all basic fittings that are present in all present-generation machines. Bluetooth and Webcams are always complimentary, but are present in almost all the models that fall in the given budget. > A laptop with 14.1" screen sized model would weigh less and less bulky > compared to a one with 15.4" display. > Internal components are all the same in all the brands. By the way, I believe you are going to use the laptop in UAE, as you are working there. There you will probably have a wide range of brands, products and choices available and I believe all brands give comparably same quality of service. My suggestion is to just consider the budget, and go for the one with best features within the budget. For the given amount, you will aaraam se get very good models. Do consider brands, but look at the best choices. I am telling you so because one given configuration of Dell would be costlier than a Lenovo laptop with the same configuration. (It can be the other way round also). Also, laptops with pre-installed Windows OS will be expensive than ones without them. And almost all models that come with Windows, have Windows Vista. If you go for one without a pre-installed OS, then you will have to install and configure an OS of your choice. Again, answering your query - Toshiba is also a good brand, kinda expensive in India, but would not be that costly there. They provide International Warranty. I forgot to mention, I believe you will be traveling to various places, right? Please do consider models with International Warranty. I think after going through all these mails, you'd probably have got an idea about things to remember when you buy a laptop. cheers -- Joju Joshua Team Zyxware Zyxware Technologies Trivandrum www.zyxware.com Ph: +91-471-243-7711 >-------------------------------------------------------------------------------< "Be the change you wish to see in the world" M K Gandhi >-------------------------------------------------------------------------------< --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ "Freedom is the only law".
