Now the simplicity, Our government's i...@school is based on GNOME, isn't ? They provide a number education tools which could run smoothly in old computers also. Another point is the application support. GNOME runs almost every application (including KDE based applications) with native feel. In some cased, i have seen some GNOME based app working in KDE in classic like theme. I have seen some KDE systems which refuse to enable Desktop effects where the GNOME allows "Best" in compiz. I'm new Linux, not much experienced.
