Heh @Prasad . Guilty as charged. I like KDE and like Sebin I use KDE
4.3.1 on an Arch Linux system. I find it very tightly integrated ( eg:
all my contacts are shared across KMail as well as kopete and with any
other program that requires it ). Also, KRunner ( the ALT+F2 ) dialog
is awesome: i could just type "mail to ilug-tvm " and it will launch
KMail Compose window with the email address in the To: field. If I
type "motherjane" it will list all songs that are on my harddrive,
performed by the band Motherjane ( this is due to the Strigi file
indexer ) . I can type in "=300*15/1000" and it will display the
results as i type . If i type "Downloads" it will display options to
open the folder as well as the files that are in it. Kopete and
quassel takes care of my IM needs. File browsing is easier than ever
with Dolphin, its integrated terminal, split views, tabbed views and
its "move/copy/cancel" drag and drop menu. Plasmoids make life easier
, especially the new folder view plasmoid, where you can browse files
easily just by hovering your mouse on the folders. Aquiring new eye
candy for your desktop is very very easy now because it has been very
well integrated with kde-look.org .There are many, many more little
things that make life easier on KDE4 :)

I dont like GNOME - I fnd it lacking . There are excellent GTK
applications ( Tomboy ) , but GNOME desktop as a whole doesnt
integrate very well. You have to tweak it.

btw , for those KDE users who want Desktop effects, you dont have to
run compiz for that, you could go ahead and enable desktop effects
from "System Settings > Desktop " . You will get cube and most of the
compiz effects that are useful in day to day tasks. It was really bad
in 4.1, but is vey solid now.

If you use QTCurve theme for both GNOME and KDE , your GNOME apps as
well as KDE apps will look similar.

Earlier there were issues with applications that reside on system tray
etc. But with adoption of freedesktop.org's standards by both desktops
, much of these issues have been solved.

I will be happy to help anyone with KDE4 issues/doubts.
