According to that wiki entry,

1. Arch Linux uses the most up to date Linux Kernal, newest version of GCC
compiler, and there is no default choice of desktop environment / window
manager which proves that the base system goes smoothly with any DE / WM .

2. Gentoo has ports for almost every architecture. Debian follows suit. Most
of the other distros have support only for one or two architectures.

3. The most number of pre-compiled packages are available in Ubuntu and
distros based on it.
