If you haven't already tried this, check to see if the problem is caused by
an Extension/Control Panel. Set your Extensions Manager to Mac OS Base,
Restart, then see if you can Shut Down. If that works, set your Extensions
Manager to Mac OS All, Restart, then see if you can Shut Down. If that
works, then one of your 3rd party extensions is causing the Shut Down
problem. Test them one package at a time until you've found the culprit.
