I'm coming into this in the middle so I don't know if this has been
mentioned or is relevant.
My 7500 w/G3 would lockup following a shutdown command (power key and Enter
or Special menu). This was under OS 9.0.4. It seemed like it did
everything to shutdown but power off. After I updated to OS 9.1, poof,
problem gone.
