Hi Folks,
I'm the same guy that wrote last week about my beloved Rev A iMac dieing.
Well, I have good news. I'm typing this message on my old iMac now! It
seems like the power-on problem I had last week is intermittent. The guy at
the repair shop said it turned on sometimes when he tried it and not other
times. I got it back from the shop over the weekend, and it worked when I
plugged it back in at home. So one easy solution is to leave it on, which
is what we're doing now. So for now, we're back to normal. But I took this
as a sign that I should be better about backing up my data, so I'm doing
that too.

This is a great list! I really appreciate all the good ideas and advice you
wrote in response to my questions. Ilene, thanks for mentioning the
battery. I had not thought of that as a possible root cause. I will
replace the battery and reset the cuda this weekend. If that solves the
problem, I'd be thrilled.

It was also fun to read the different thoughts you all had on which path to
take for replacing my iMac. Fortunately, it looks like I might be able to
put that off a bit longer. Since my wife wanted me to take the cheapest
solution path, she is very happy with this! But I have to admit that I'd
started to salivate a little when thinking about a possible iMac FP to
replace this one.

Anyway, thanks again for the great replies.
Mike
