Ok... we got bigger problems today. This is beyond ram not working!

Thanks for all the advice you gave me yesterday.... I went home and tried
to do a simple update from 8.5.1 to 8.6 (I've done this a hundred times
before with my older powercomputing clone). Halfway through the update the
installer came to an error and quit. I ran techtool to see if there was any
damage done and now I have a completely useless hard drive. I took the drive
out of the imac and put it into another case to try and fix it. Tried
nortons 6.0, techtool 3.0 and diskwarrior. The drive still won't mount. The
drive is a 4.0gb quantum fireball se. I'm not sure how to set it to slave
mode... could this be the problem... I just kept changing jumpers until the
computer booted off of it's own drive and not the imac's.

Anyway.. norton's would attempt to fix it but would come to a part where it
said that the disk drivers would have to be installed to proceed any
further... and then quit. So I tried disk setup to install a new driver but
that didn't seem to help either. So tonight I'm going to try to get it to
mount using harddisk toolkit 3.0 and then if it does... work on it with
diskwarrior...

any suggestions at all... am I screwed? is the girl 3 cubicles down going to
kill me? Please help!
