I think if you do command-i while selecting a .pdf document (or control 
click and select get info), then in the get info box there's an 'open 
with' pane. Expand this and select Acrobat 5 from the pull down menu. 
Then at the bottom there is a button asking if you would like to open 
all similar documents with the selected program. Click the button and I 
think the problem will be solved.
