I told my mother-in-law to go with Earthlink since they
advertised they were Mac-friendly and she had an old Mac
running OS 8.5. Their web page said they supported everything
back to OS 7.6.
Their phone droids told her that she had to buy a new
computer before they could do anything for her....
I think the best thing to do is find a small, high-quality
local ISP. The big ones are all likely to suck. Of course,
the more you know and can do for yourself, the less it
matters that there isn't any technical support.
