it's the Shorthand Glossaries feature... essentially, you type
something semi-cryptic, and it automatically expands out to something
bigger.

for instance, i have a glossary of Apple product models.
if i type 'g4p' it expands to 'PowerMac G4 (PCI)'
if i type 'pbg4' it expands to 'PowerBook G4'
etc.

unfortunately, C&G has stated fairly bluntly that Glossaries have no
future in SpellCatcher for OS X. :( They said they might do Glossaries
in a stand-alone product, but added that saying so was pure speculation.
