I'm still a huge fan of Claris Emailer. I left Eudora Lite at the 1.5.3 level, played a bit with OE, and currently use PowerMail for about half my email. I'm holding off on Apple's Mail app until I'm ready to go OS X pretty much all the time. I am not a big fan of PowerMail. It doesn't include a spell checker; you have to supply your own and figure out how to integrate it. Sorry, folks, but I'm a Mac user. I expect things to be easy. It also has some problems deleting HTML email. And it often reports that the database is in use when I launch it. And it pretty much stops me in my tracks when it indexes incoming messages, at least in OS 9, which is still my default OS. Pros: It displays (but can't send or reply to text within) HTML email and it runs natively in both OS X and the classic Mac OS. I like the way PowerMail works. It's more like Emailer than anything else I've tried, but it's not quite Emailer, so I stick with what I know for now. Thank goodness the classic mode functions so transparently inside Mac OS X -- I'll never have to give it up until I'm convinced Mail or something else is better than this program last updated nearly five years ago. -- Dan Knight, president, Cobweb Publishing, Inc. <http://cobwebpublishing.com> <http://lowendmac.com> <http://digital-views.com> <http://digigraphica.com> <http://lowendpc.com> <http://reformed.net> I like nonsense, it wakes up the brain cells.
