I was originally a Pegasus Mail user on the Windows platform, and I
started out using Pegasus Mail on the Mac. Unfortunately, the Mac
version of Pegasus Mail hadn't been updated in a LONG time, so it was
pretty primitive. I used it until the end of 1999, then had to switch
to Outlook Express when I was told that Mac Pegasus Mail had a Y2K bug
in it, since it used its own dating scheme (it was only a cosmetic bug,
but still, I thought it'd be wise to make the leap).

However, from the first day I started using Mac OS X, I've been using
Mail.app exclusively. I've liked Mail.app from the very beginning, even
in its earliest incarnations. Personally, I just can't understand why
anyone would go searching for another Mail solution for Mac OS X.
Mail.app is exceptionally powerful and incredibly user friendly.

Of course, it IS a consumer app. People who need more powerful E-mail
capabilities for intensive business use might find it a bit limited.
Still, it DOES have advanced features like the ability to access IMAP
E-mail boxes, a capability that a vast majority of consumer E-mail
clients don't have.

Personally, I'm just glad that Mail.app provides me an E-mail solution
that is entirely Cocoa-based and, more importantly, specifically
designed from the ground up to integrate seamlessly with Mac OS X.
