And there is the real possibility that some "batches" of eMacs may have a louder fan than others. I've seen this myself in the new "Wind Tunnel" G4s. I've also seen a batch of eMacs with bad video cards (bad out of the box). Such production problems are usually corrected quickly at the factory but the owner of the "lemon" machine is highly reliant on Apple's (usually excellent) customer service or the merchant to resolve his issue. All the eMacs I've seen at various installations and stores seem to be pretty quiet, but they are usually in noisy environments. I recently put three of them in a class I was teaching and they were pretty quiet (noisier than iMacs, but less noisy than the Tower I was using for the class). _Chas_ Come to ...
