Hi Jas, Macers:

 From all accounts the iMac has cornered the market on reliability and 
quietness between the two. However there are other issues to be 
considered when choosing one over the other. As I understand it the 
eMacs CRT has the advantage of multiple resolutions, better color 
fidelity and being better for games and movies. Also, there are some 
differences concerning cost, the iMac Combo Drive is $400 (US) more 
than the eMac Combo Drive. Plus the RAM for the top slot (Apple 
installed) is about double the cost of the RAM for the the lower slot 
(user installed). Whereas, the eMac on the other hand uses the same 
lower cost RAM in both slots, which are both user accessible. So, 
maxing out the RAM on an eMac would cost considerably less. As much 
as I like the iMac I think that it is too expensive for our budget.
