I just purchased an external 60gb firewire drive to attach to my slot-loading iMac 400. My internal drive is still the stock 10gb. I am currently running OS 9.2.2. I am planning on installing Jaguar on my system and am wondering if anyone has any words of wisdom for me regarding whether to partition the drives or not and what size partitions might be recommended for various OS partitions or even which drive would be best to install on. I figure I can partition the 60gb external drive however is best, create a mirror of the internal drive as a backup, and then do any installs or partitioning on the internal drive.
I'm sure this has been gone over before but now that I have the hard drive in hand I am not sure what the best approach would be. I am hoping to save myself the trouble of reformatting down the line. Thanks in advance. Another question: Will I be able to boot from the external drive? Andre -- The iMac List is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
