Hey everyone, I just joined the list..I'm a noob to macs, had a couple over the years, but nothing serious as I have been stuck in a PC world..however..I luckly came across an IMac that I couldn't resist. I was in a friends garage working on my rice burner and what do I spy..a Revision A all bit its lonesome..I asked him what was wrong because at his Dorm he had a brand new Imac..and he said one day the monitor wouldnt come on anymore...and having replaced a CRT in my Classic II a while back, I had a hunch I might could fix this thing too...so he told me I could have it, and to my suprise, it had a Imac PowR G3 466mhz/1meg upgrade card, and 256 megs of ram...I ordered a new CRT off ebay and viola, a couple hours later it booted right into the OS..which was like 8.5 I believe, I have since then written 0's and its awaiting a new OS...so now...Here's my questions..with my system specs, what OS do you all recommend running? I plan on doing mostly Internet stuff(cable modem), word processing etc.. I have "access" to each OS so that is no problem..and in fact a friend of mine who is a teacher just grabbed "Jaguar" in the promo for teachers apple ran..so what do you all recommend as I want as much speed as possible, a fancy GUI isn't a must I always liked 8-9 OS's...also if you could walk me through as I have heard you need certian "Imac" updates in some of these OS's..which I'm new too obviously..Thanks everyone for looking, and you may reply off the list as it may need to be lengthy to [EMAIL PROTECTED] Thanks again, Josh
