Amber, I have the same machine (well CD-R, 20 gig HD, 1 gig RAM) but I'm impressed with it's boot up speed. I'm just grasping for straws, but perhaps is your drive rather full and in need of defragging? Have you run DiskWarrior to see if there's anything in need of repair, or to optimize the drive?
