Hello all--

My wife recently purchased new software designed to run under Windows 98
(which we are running under virtual PC v3.0 on an iMac Revision D - 333MHz,
6GB Hard Drive, 96MB RAM, OS 8.6).

When we try to read the CD-ROM we get a message that the disk is unreadable
and asking us if we want to format it. This occurs whether VPC is running or
not. So, of course, the installation cannot be done at all. BTW the disk IS
recognizable and readable by our Power PC 8500/180 internal CD-ROM drive.

The iMacs and 8500 are all connected over an etherNet network using a
Linksys Etherfast Cable / DSL Router sharing files and programs.

So here's the questions for anyone who can help:
Why is the CD recognized by the 8500 but not the iMac?
How can I get the program installed in VPC on the iMac without additional
equipment?

I cannot install VPC and the Windows program on the 8500 as it would require
additional RAM (which does not currently fit into the budget).

Thanks in advance for any assistance.
Wally
