Hi Wally, obvious question: do you have extensions loaded on the 8500 that are not loaded on the iMac?? I had a similar problem when I tried to read a minidisc on my iBook running 9.1. I got the following file from <http://www.tempel.org/joliet/> Joliet Volume Access 2.0.3 I also got the Joke Ridge Files from <http://www.alex-castro.com/jokeridge> which helps with long filenames some CDs have. It solved my problem. Maybe you have got the Joliet extension loaded on the 8500 but not on the iMac? Some info from the Readme file: Joliet Volume Access is a File System, that is, it allows you to read disks in a certain format. This File System supports reading the following formats: ISO 9660 (Level 1 to 3), Joliet and Rock Ridge. It is functionally a replacement for Apple's ISO 9660 File Access extension.
