Hi Walter-- Thanks for the tips. I now have the CD readable on one iMac as well as the 8500, but not on the iMac that really needs it :-(
> obvious question: do you have extensions loaded on the 8500 that are not > loaded on the iMac?? There are differences in the extensions on one iMacs verses the other. Do you have any clue which extensions I should be looking at. I tried to copy all the CD related extensions form the working machine to the other but alas no joy. > I had a similar problem when I tried to read a minidisc on my iBook running > 9.1. I got the following file from <http://www.tempel.org/joliet/> > > Joliet Volume Access 2.0.3 I tried the freeware version (v 1.4.2) first to see if it would help. The files were then readable on the first Mac so I tried to run Virtual PC from that machine and install the program in question onto the other over the network. This only resulted in a dialog box within VPC that stated "The program was not a Win 32 application". So now I'm lost again. Any other advise would be greatly appreciated. I'll try anything at this point. If nothing works I'll need to buy a Windose PC to run this thing -- Please, anyone, save me from the dark side!
