Hi all, In thinking about this issue, I recognize that this is one of they grey areas and probably not something I need to be worried about in the immediate future. It does seem that Apple is at the forefront of the debate with the concept of the digital hub and the ease of use of iApps. Apple alone seems like David to the Goliath of the RIAA and powers that be. Especiallly since I seem to remember an article recently about Microsoft working with the RIAA (?) to make it difficult, if not impossible, to rip files from a protected cd to a Windows box. Does anyone have an idea of how much clout Apple carries inthe debate? I do not have a sense of how much power those opposed to the stringent laws put forward by organizations like the RIAA actually have. If anyone has suggestions on good sources of information or how to get more involved, I would appreciate it. And to get back to a concrete example, let's say I create a slideshow, add a song from iTunes and put it up on .Mac. This is pretty simple using iApps but I do not believe it would protect the audio track from being exported and copied.
