I know this is a OT conversation, but does anyone know how Spanish characters are created in Appleworks 6?
What options will I have under AppleWorks 6?
Under OS 9, you can quickly see special characters by using the Apple Menu's "Key Caps" program. In OS X, Key Caps is a separate program you can just keep in the Dock. Some characters (like the accented "e") are two keystrokes: you press option-e, then e. The result (which will probably get garbled in this plain-text email) will look like this: �
With practice you will quickly not need to use Key Caps and will just "know" the most common Spanish characters, such as:
accented n: option-n, then n (�)
accented u: option-e, then u (�), or a (�) or any other letter
upside down exclamation mark: option-! (aka option-shift-1) (�)
upside down question mark: option-? (�)
Now -- isn't that a lot easier than Windows?!! :)
