I have been approached by a neighbor to teach computer skills to their home
schooled 6th grade daughter. I am a software engineer of 20 years, so the
subject is comfortable. However, they have both an iMac and a PC. I am
primarily a PC user but have used various Macs in the course of my career.
I have no knowledge of the iMac. They own a white iMac model M5521. My
query is for information on this machine's abilities and standard 'out of
the box' config. They have not done any upgrades. If there is a web site
that I can check for this info that would be great, but after a good deal of
searching I havn't found it. :-(
Also, they are interested in adding some sort of peripheral to allow saving
of school work to floppy or CD. I am assuming that the standard CD
currently installed is read-only, but I may be wrong. They don't have any
idea. So, advice toward that goal is also welcome.

Thanks for any help,
-Wes
