I recently installed Jaguar on my 600 MHz iMac G3. Here's how I went about it. First I backed up all my important data. Then I took screen shots and printed out all my internet settings. Such as IP address, Subnet Mask, Router, DNS Servers, and Search Domains. Along with the settings in my Eudora mail application- mail or pop server and the smtp address. Then I booted from my 9.2 CD. Erased the boot drive and reinstalled OS 9.2.2. (This is very important if you want want to run any OS 9 software. Because Classic is not on Jaguar's install disk.) Next I installed Jaguar itself. Shortly after the installation was completed, the Software Update Panel appeared and gave me the option of upgrading Jaguar to OS 10.2.3. Which I did. (Later in the week I upgraded to 10.2.4).
