I am deeply distressed the Mr. Montgomery, who really should know better, would even think of spouting such completely inaccurate information. Classic, as of 10.2, runs at roughly the same speed as OS 9 itself (the finder may still look a bit slower, but try running any kind of cpu-intensive operation such as Photoshop filter and see for yourself -- in many cases Classic is actually FASTER than OS 9). This claptrap about "will not work for anything requiring processing muscle" is 100% bullshit. It is also complete folderol to say that Classic is running in software emulation -- it most certainly IS NOT. Smalldog have just dropped off my list of recommended vendors until this gentleman is relieved of his harmful and erroneous beliefs that serve only to confuse customers.
