Hi Bryce,

I think your problem lies in the final line above. It sure sounds like you
deleted a file or two too many when you were in OS9.  The file
/etc/master.passwd doesn't just disappear, but if you deleted a folder or
two you thought wasn't needed, you only have one to blame ;-)

But it is of course just a guess :-)
