If you look over many boards of directors you'll find a plethora of ex and present politicians who are clearly unqualified to sit on anything other than a dunce's stool. This is a way to lend financial support to some of them and put them in your debt, just in case they make their way into positions of power. Putting the inventor of the internet on Apple's board says a lot about Apple, and none of it good.
