Perhaps, but around here I like to say that my sig. other did. He was
a computer programmer for Kraft Foods and General Telephone in Chicago
in the early '70s, and (according to him) he developed a program for
networking Kraft computers with ones in remote locations. This may be
so, although it's only a family joke and I'm sure others were actually
the ones to enable computer intercommunication. (He left the
programming field to follow his muse as a repairer of trucks and buses,
particularly electrical systems.)

Also, a few months ago I posted to this list concerning early video
failure of my Bondi iMac. Thanks to the list, it is now running. My
SO first replaced the power supply board (which smelled a little
toasted) and it still did not power up. He then installed a new
flyback transformer, and ... hit the power button ... Happy Mac! It's
now running 10.2.4 purringly.
