We had a mac 8100/110 that restarted at odd times. It worked out that it had a setting- auto start after power failure but the system was so sensitive that it would auto start whenever there was a any voltage surge in the power line. Because the setting was in separate file we could not find it . It had a different name . I think it normally would have been in start up items .
