Be glad you've got another monitor to look at -- by the time I discovered the solution to the problem on my DV, the monitor was too dark and murky to be certain I was hitting the right buttons on the update installer. The display problems were history as soon as I rebooted following the update.

Just a thought, do you have the latest firmware for that iMac? One of
mine looked very much like that (only darker) shortly after upgrading to
Jaguar (although oddly, not immediatly). It required the firmware update
from Apple to correct it.

Looking at the pics I'd agree with you. It looks like a variation of the
problems related to installing 10.2 with old firmware. I'd certainly try
updating to 4.19f before getting too involved.
