So, what your saying is, I have to partition the disk before an install?
8gb/120gb or something of that nature, just not over 8gb?

Sorry for the dumb questions, I am completely new to os x and have been
running os 9 for a LONG time.....this is so fun though, I am so glad
these imacs are so upgradable...my wife is so happy.

well, actually... the ATA bus on this iMac will not recognize any space
on a disk beyond 128GB. doesn't matter how you partition it. this is
part is a hardware limitation. "partitioning" is mostly for human
consumption, though there are some exceptions (such as the 8GB OS X boot
restriction on this model). an ATA bus isn't sophisticated enough to
address disk space beyond somewhere in the vicinity of 128GB.
