Jace,

When you run the Installer in OS X, you can stop and go up to the Finder and launch the Disk Utilities and format the drive BEFORE you do the install...it's one of the niceties of using OS X. On the older iMacs, try to be sure that the partition upon which you will be installing OS X is no larger than 8 Gb (because not all Gb's are created equal! 1000 Mb vs. 1024 Mb...so play it safe and make the drive something like 7.5 Gb). Does this help?

So, what your saying is, I have to partition the disk before an install?
8gb/120gb or something of that nature, just not over 8gb?

Sorry for the dumb questions, I am completely new to os x and have been
running os 9 for a LONG time.....this is so fun though, I am so glad
these imacs are so upgradable...my wife is so happy.
