As everyone knows, connecting an external display to the iMac is not
supported by Apple and will void the warranty, a moot point in my case as
the warranty expired three years ago. However, Apple does not say anything
about the reverse, i.e. using the iMac as a display for another unit, say a
PowerMac for instance. Has anyone ever done this?

I suppose it COULD be done:

1. Remove rear cover of iMac.
2. Disconnect the monitor cable
3. Connect an extension cable to monitor cable.
4. Connect extended cable to PowerMac.
5. Turn on iMac and then turn on PowerMac
