As everyone knows, connecting an external display to the iMac is not
supported by Apple and will void the warranty, a moot point in my case as
the warranty expired three years ago. However, Apple does not say anything
about the reverse, i.e. using the iMac as a display for another unit, say a
PowerMac for instance. Has anyone ever done this?
*sigh*
NOTHING "voids" your warranty. period. take my word for it - until recently, i was an AppleCare agent.
some things you do to a Mac aren't covered by the warranty, and plenty of things aren't "supported" by Apple. but merely connecting an external monitor will not void your warranty.
