I have an original Rev A (bondi) iMac with a bad logic board (dead ethernet).
So, you say your ethernet port doesn't work. As determined how? And that doesn't mean that your logic board doesn't work for everything else, right?
I'm looking for a replacement, but I'm not sure if the 266/333MHz boards are compatible. Can anyone tell me
1) Can I put a 266 or 333MHz logic board/CPU into my Rev A (233)?
Yes, AFAIK. This has been stated several times on this list recently, along with references to real-world experience, and has not been counterindicated.
