Yes, AFAIK. This has been stated several times on this list recently, along with references to real-world experience, and has not been counterindicated.
Well, I'm new to iMacs and new to this list, but thanks for chiming in about it again. My information comes from Art Hendrickson at Smalldog (a LEM sponsor, I believe) who says "Unfortunately, the 233MHZ machine and the 266MHz machine have different power supply/analog board set ups.", and "I am afraid that they are just too different. Power consumption specifications and the like had been updated between the first and second generation iMacs."
I think very highly of Small Dog, but I wonder if, in this particular situation, their info is correct.
This was in response to my inquiry into purchasing a 266MHz board they have available. What you're saying, though is that users have done this successfully?

Adding to (or contradicting) the replies you have receievd so far:
If I could find a dead Rev B, C, or D iMac could I use the processor daughter card from them (266-400Mhz) in my Rev A (assuming that the card was still good of course)?
Absolutely. I'm running a 333 MHz processor in my original Bondi right now.
If you get a 266 card, make sure you apply the iMac Firmware Update to it after you install the card, even if it was installed with the original 233 MHz card installed. If the iMac doesn't need it, the software will tell you so.
(I tried running the upgrade when I installed my 333 MHz card, but the software said the upgrade was not needed, but it WAS needed when I installed a used 233 MHz card a few months ago.)
