I am just wondering how many people have .Mac and if you consider it money
well spent ? If so, which features do you use the most ?

I am asking because I want to set up a a web photo gallery so our relatives
can see all our recent photos on-line. The .Mac account seems the easiest
option thus far.

I have looked at all kinds of on-line services but would prefer to make
things as simple as possible. I.e. Just download my photos to iPhoto, use
the homepage feature and publish them to the site.

Amber, I felt it was too expensive to basically reproduce services I was already paying for. To achieve what you want I did the following. I archive my pictures with iView MediaPro <http://www.iview-multimedia.com/>. This program creates a web page with a gallery of my photos. There are several templates to choose from. I then use Transmit <http://www.panic.com/transmit/> to upload the whole folder to my ftp site (drag and drop) and give my friends the URL.

Most companies that provide internet access will also provide web space. One call to their tech support or a visit to their web page will tell you what your personal address is. Once it's set up it's rather easy to use.

You can check out and quick and dirty example I created for one of my son's school community service projects. The added benefit of using iView MediaPro is that I was able to create a contact sheet from the same collection of photos and the teacher and students were able to pick which photos they wanted me to reproduce. They could also pick from the website, of course.
